NOTES FROM THE TABLE

A number for your shuffle

The following details apply here. The number and suit setting together identify the starting shuffle. Numbered Deals lets you choose a reproducible Spider starting layout on e-cac.com. Select one suit, two suits or four suits before loading the deal. Enter a whole deal number between 1 and 4294967295.

Use the controls

A few details help explain this feature. An active unfinished game asks for confirmation before loading another selection. Load deal applies the number and suit setting in the controls. Loading a different number can replace progress saved for the same mode and suit setting. The Deal number field accepts positive whole numbers within the displayed range.

Number and suits belong together

Here are the details for this mode. A deal number identifies a starting layout rather than a saved position halfway through play. Changing the suit setting changes the deck used to create the deal. Move choices after the opening are entirely up to the player. The same deal number and suit setting produce the same opening cards with this game's shuffle algorithm.

Share a starting point

A few details help explain this feature. A shared numbered link opens the corresponding starting deal or matching local progress. Copy deal link includes the selected number and suit setting in the page's link fragment. When automatic copying is unavailable, the game displays a selectable link field. Sharing a link does not transfer another player's move history or statistics.

The numbered objective

Here are the details for this mode. Win by completing eight same-suit King-to-Ace sequences. Numbered Spider uses 104 cards arranged in ten columns with a stock pile. A full descending sequence containing different suits stays on the tableau. A qualifying face-up run is removed automatically.

Build by rank

An exposed card can move onto a card exactly one rank higher. A descending same-suit group can move together as one unit. The destination card may belong to another suit in standard Spider. Any legal movable group may enter an empty column.

The stock requirement

Undo can restore the position before a stock deal while the snapshot is available. Fill every empty column before using the stock. Five stock deals are available at the beginning of a numbered game. Each stock deal adds one card to each of the ten columns.

Replay and new numbers

A few details help explain this feature. The current number remains visible beside the game controls. New game chooses another deal number for the current suit setting. Comparing different openings on one number can help you study your own decisions. Replay resets the current number to its original shuffle.

A reproducible deal is not a proof

The Hint button reports legal options rather than solving the whole game. Numbered shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. Winning Deals provides a separate collection with verified legal solutions. Some choices can make a position harder even when another line might succeed.

Save your numbered game

With saving enabled, Numbered Deals keeps a current game for each suit setting in this browser. A matching saved game resumes when you revisit its number. Use Privacy & Cookie Settings to manage or clear local records on this domain. My Statistics lists numbered starts and wins separately from ordinary Spider games.
